WiFi Wireless Internet

SMU is pleased to provide WiFi wireless Internet access in several locations around the community!

Access is FREE for existing SMU Broadband customers.  Registration is required; contact SMU to set up a user name and password.

Non-SMU Broadband customers may access the WiFi connections for a fee (credit card only)

15 Days:  $24.95
30 Days:  $39.95

To log in, find the SMU wireless network, then open your web browser.  Enter your password (existing customers) or payment information (fee users).

Open Access ISP's
Spencer Municipal Utilities is an "open access" Internet system. With open access, customers can choose from multiple Internet Service Providers!

For pricing information from this ISP, click on their logo below.

In addition to having an Internet Service Provider, you will need to either purchase or rent a cable modem.

Cable Modem Activation $45.00

Compatible cable modems may be purchased from outside vendors. Cable modems must be DOCSIS 2.0 or 3.0 compatible. SMU does not guarantee the operation of any cable modem that is not purchased or rented from SMU.

Acceptable use Policy
SMU sets forth an Acceptable Use Policy with the intent of protecting our service, our customers, and their users of the Internet from potentially abusive actions taken by SMU customers. The following policy in non-exclusive; any action about which there is a doubt should be referred to SMU for evaluation.
