Health and Safety Risk Coordinator

 

Spencer Municipal Utilities (SMU) is seeking applicants for a newly created position as a full-time Health and Safety Risk Coordinator.  The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated individual responsible for planning, directing and coordinating SMU's comprehensive safety and training programs to minimize risk, promote a healthy work environment, ensure proper instruction, and support the mission and goals of the entire utility. Work with departmental managers and others to develop and implement policies, practices, and training programs to meet the best industry practices for safety, risk management, communication, leadership, problem solving, and technical proficiency.  Ensures that policies and programs comply with all local, state, and federal laws, rules and regulations.  This position is non-exempt and reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Qualified candidates should have a High School diploma and responsible professional experience with emphasis in Health, Safety, Risk Management and training.  Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license within 60 days of employment.

Video Services Associate

Spencer Municipal Utilities is seeking a full-time Video Services Associate. The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated, detailed oriented individual responsible for assisting the SMU local programming department with video production.  Duties will include but are not limited to; production of local programming events in the community, production of advertising and other video projects.  Candidate will also assist with maintaining the public access channel bulletin board.

Qualified Candidates must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.  Candidate must also have a High School Diploma or GED; two (2) to four (4) years video production experience is desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  To perform this job successfully a qualified individual should have knowledge with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), desktop publishing and video editing software or the ability to learn.  Experience with video production, including the use of video cameras and linear and non-linear video editing systems a plus.  This position works indoors and outdoors and is subject to all types of weather conditions.  Flexible scheduling and hours which will include some evenings, and weekends.
